The short version
Try Tested is an AI-tools directory operated by Squidcode LLC. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and understand what's useful. We don't sell your data, and we don't ask you to create an account or hand over personal details to browse.
What we collect
- ·Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Umami to see aggregate traffic — pages viewed, rough location, device and referrer. These set cookies or similar identifiers. We use this to improve the site, not to identify you personally.
- ·Outbound clicks.When you click a “Visit” link we log the event (which tool, the referring page, your browser user-agent, and country) so we can measure interest. We do not store your raw IP address.
- ·What we don't collect.No accounts, no names, no email addresses, no payment details. There's nothing to sign up for.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you buy a tool after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Per FTC guidance we disclose this clearly. Crucially, affiliate relationships neveraffect a tool's ranking — scores come from an independent panel of AI agents and are published in full.
Third parties
When you follow an outbound link you're handed off to that tool (and sometimes an affiliate network such as PartnerStack, Impact, FirstPromoter or Awin), each with its own privacy policy. Our analytics providers (Google, Umami) process data on our behalf.
Your choices & rights
You can block cookies in your browser or use tracker-blocking extensions — the site still works. Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA) you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Since we hold almost none tied to you, there's usually little to act on, but you can contact us any time.
